Competition 1,2 – We’re looking for your feature debuts and second films!

We invite you to take part in the International Competition 1,2. Submissions are open until August 15.

Exploratory, unconventional cinema that breaks patterns is a hallmark of our festival. That’s why in 2024, Spektrum launched the first edition of the International Competition 1,2 for feature debuts and second films. It is often through their first features that filmmakers kick down the doors of the established order. The winner of the first edition was the Polish film Rzeczy niezbędne, directed by Kamila Tarabura. The success of the first edition encouraged us to continue this initiative. – says Paweł Kosuń, Artistic Director of the Spektrum International Film Festival.

The competition is open to feature-length fiction debuts and second films completed after January 1, 2023. The selection team will pay special attention to bold works that bring a fresh perspective to cinematic language. The winner of the International Competition 1,2 will be chosen by the audience of the 11th Spektrum Film Festival. Submissions can be made via the FilmFreeway platform.
