The Youth Perspective
The Youth Perspective section traditionally includes short film competitions for filmmakers up to 35 years of age: short fiction, documentary, and animation, as well as film talents up to 21 years old in the amateur competition, showcasing the most exciting new voices of young cinema.
New: Polish Competition
This year, we are introducing the Polish Competition – a new category in which selected Polish-produced short films from The Youth Perspective competitions (excluding the amateur competition) will compete.
The winner will be selected by a journalists’ jury.
The award includes a statuette and a cash prize of 1500 PLN.
This creates an additional space to recognize the most compelling Polish short forms and strengthen their presence in the festival program.
New: Midnight Shorts (non-competitive section)
Another new feature this year is the non-competitive Midnight Shorts section. It will present selected genre films from The Youth Perspective competitions that balance on the edge of horror, dark comedy, camp, and experiment.
It is a proposition for viewers seeking bold, uncompromising cinema that defies clear-cut categories.
“1,2” Competition
The “1,2” Competition welcomes directors of feature-length fiction films – it is dedicated to filmmakers presenting their first or second feature film. Once again, the section will introduce Świdnica audiences to new talents and showcase the most exciting debuts and second films from both the Polish and international scenes.
We encourage you to submit your films and co-create the program of this year’s edition. Detailed regulations and submission deadlines are available in the Call for Films section and on the FilmFreeway platform, where we are waiting for your films!
See you in October in Świdnica!
