First titles

The Spektrum Film Festival program loves to combine shorts and features, award-winning films and fresh discoveries, debuting filmmakers with those who have already built an extensive filmography. The 11th edition will be no exception – it will open with the screening of LARP. Love, Trolls and Other Quests directed by Kordian Kądziela.

This year’s festival will officially open on October 21 with the screening of LARP, directed by Kordian Kądziela (known for the series 1670). This action-packed, humorous comedy tells the story of a teenage vocational school student misunderstood by his family and bullied by peers for his passion for fantasy and… playing an elf in LARP (live action role-playing) games. The cast includes Martyna Byczkowska, Andrzej Konopka, Bartłomiej Topa, Edyta Olszówka, Maciej Bisiorek, Agnieszka Rajda, and Michał Balicki, with Filip Zaręba making his big screen debut in the leading role. The film was partly shot in Ziębice, Lower Silesia.

The Spektrum lineup will also feature some of the biggest hits from Wrocław’s New Horizons. Festival audiences can look forward to Dreams (Sex Love) directed by Dag Johan Haugerud (winner at Berlinale), a Scandinavian tale of the ambiguities of first love; Sirât directed by Oliver Laxe (winner at Cannes, hailed as a total film), about a father searching for his daughter at desert rave parties in Morocco; and In Simple Accident by the legendary Jafar Panahi (Palme d’Or 2025), offering an extraordinary insight into contemporary Iran.

Pass and ticket sales will begin at the end of September.
