Film is one of the most communal forms of art, making it perfect for collective emotional experiences. Cinematic experiences can also be intergenerational, which is why we organize Spektrum for kids – family-friendly screenings on select Saturday mornings. The program includes some of the most popular films and animations for children. Each session begins with a film introduction by Martyna Stec – a psychologist, educator, mediator, and trainer specializing in enhancing socio-emotional skills.
In 2024, thanks to a grant from the NCK Interwencje program, we are organizing three film workshops for people with disabilities and their caregivers. This initiative fosters skills and sensitivity, helping to enhance civic potential, support social relationships, and strengthen therapeutic effects. Additionally, we collaborate with the WTZ in Mokrzeszów, involving people with disabilities as jurors that award their own prize in The Youth Perspective short fiction competition.
Since the first edition, we have involved inmates from the Świdnica Detention Center in Spektrum’s activities. Each year, they serve as jurors for The Youth Perspective short film competition and present a handmade award at the official gala. During the festival, they also meet with filmmakers and watch films alongside the festival audience in the prison’s common room. Through film screenings and discussions, the inmates participate in rehabilitation activities.
