Agata Królak
An illustrator, designer, educator, and author of picture books, she specializes in visual storytelling, expanding her work to include techniques such as woodcarving and ceramics. She has received distinctions from the Polish Graphic Design Awards, the MUST HAVE plebiscite at the Łódź Design Festival, the KTR Award, and recognitions from IBBY and the Polish Book Publishers Association. Her illustrations have been showcased at festivals and exhibitions in cities such as New York, Tokyo, London, Brussels, and Paris. She is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where she leads the Illustration Studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. In 2018, she defended her PhD thesis titled “Talking Through Images: The Picture Book and the Development of Visual Language.”
