Michał „Borzem” Borzemski

Born in Wałbrzych on August 26, 1983. He holds a degree in pedagogy from the University of Opole. He works as a sports manager at the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Szczawno-Zdrój and as a basketball coach for youth teams at MKS Basket Szczawno-Zdrój. He also runs his own business through which he organizes sports events. Since his school years, he has been passionate about basketball, which has become his lifelong pursuit. Over the years of studying the game, he has mastered every aspect of basketball — from playing to organizing events. Although he did not have a formal youth basketball career, through self-discipline and determination he managed to reach the level of Poland’s 2nd basketball league.

His greatest sporting achievement was winning the Polish Cup in 2014 with the Górnik Wałbrzych team. He began his career as an event organizer in 2003 with a streetball tournament called Alkatraz. Both the event and the court where the games are held quickly became one of the most important landmarks of street basketball in Poland. Over the past 20 years, the Alkatraz tournament has grown into an international event, attracting players not only from Poland’s top league but also those with NBA experience. He has also organized several 3×3 tournaments under the FIBA banner as well as various local basketball events.
