A Polish-Czech socio-cultural initiative which, through a shared passion for cinema, brought together in 2025 what at first glance seemed different: seniors and young people, two countries, and two perspectives. Participants from Świdnica and Trutnov took part in a series of workshops and, through collaborative intergenerational and intercultural work, with the support and guidance of experts, created their own film projects. The workshops were accompanied by local cultural events.

We believe that cinema should be accessible everywhere and close to local communities. Since 2024, together with the Świdnica Cultural Center and the Culture and Art Center in Wrocław, we have been inviting audiences to open-air film screenings across Lower Silesia. Bliskie Kino has already visited Szczepanów, Duszniki-Zdrój, Oborniki Śląskie, Świebodzice, and Kamienna Góra. The program has featured films awarded at the most important European and international festivals — light, summery, and moving titles.
The love of cinema is clearly visible in Świdnica during every edition of the Spektrum Film Festival. But what if it could be nurtured all year round? Why not! In April 2024, the Spektrum Film Discussion Club was launched at the Świdnica Cultural Center. Its aim is not only to watch films together, but also to discuss, debate, and share cinematic emotions. In the films we present, we focus on local stories and small homelands, thus referring to the Bliżej/Closer section of the Spektrum festival. Screenings take place at the Świdnica Cultural Center, and during the summer also outdoors — on the Świdnica market square.
