Fifty-year-old Roma is facing the most difficult time of her life. She dreams only of a place that could be her new home. When she once again comes up against bureaucracy and loses sight of improving her situation, all she can do is forget her worries for a moment. Unexpectedly, thirty-year-old Marta crosses her path…

Our movie revolves around housing issues, but that is not the main theme. At the beginning of this project, we talked a lot about people who struggle with housing problems, yet do everything they can to hide it. They work and live normal lives, but are ashamed to invite people into their homes or to talk about their situation. Above all, A Free Woman is a story about dignity and shame.
