Bridges overcome obstacles – they connect places and people and are a promise of encounter and trust. If a bridge is destroyed, the connection is also severed. Along the Lusatian Neisse, the border river between Germany and Poland, old and destroyed bridges tell of lost connections and the transformation of a region. Between past and present, the film poses the question of what these fractures mean for the future of Europe.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Theresa Münnich.

Theresa Münnich

A filmmaker and artist from Halle/Saale, Germany. She studied Media Art, Jewish studies and sociology in Halle, Leipzig, Vienna, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Her video works and films, shaped by insights gained in East Germany, Israel and Ukraine, deal with questions of memory culture and identity raised by social and historical processes.
