The screening will be followed by a Q&A with actresses Daniela Komędera and Weronika Humaj.

A scorching summer, a Renaissance palace. Three women exist in a carefree state of suspension, while an enigmatic system fulfills all their life needs – providing food, entertainment, and tools for constant self-improvement. There is only one rule: they must not cross the wall surrounding the estate. Soon, however, cracks begin to appear in this idyllic picture. A daily routine focused on wellness affirmations starts to resemble enslavement, and beneath the smiles and cheerful surface emerge long-suppressed anger, rage, and a burning desire for freedom. The protagonists begin to communicate using their own code and secretly “practice dying,” desperately trying to devise an escape plan. But will women raised in perpetual immaturity be able to cross the boundaries imposed on them by the system?

Glorious Summer ably demonstrates the power of illusions, and its filmmakers impress not only in conjuring them strongly, but in sharply piercing them as well.

Stephen Saito, Variety

Yet, even in its subtlety, there are overt and compelling visuals explored within the film’s sumptuous world.

Maggie Lovitt, Collider

Glorious Summer uses stellar cinematography and praiseworthy performances to comment on women’s freedom in direct and fascinating ways.
