Wanda and Janek have been together “forever.” However, after ten years, their relationship resembles a charger cable that a dog has chewed – it still charges, but it shouldn’t be working.
After yet another argument, the cause of which is unclear, they make a decision: they embark on a last-chance expedition. They buy sleds, load only the essentials, and set off along the wintry Baltic coast. If they stay on the beach and follow the rules of the journey, they will be together forever. If they fail, they will never see each other again.
Maria Zbąska’s feature film debut is a contemporary tale filled with intelligent humor about love. In an era when everything is disposable and easily replaceable, Wanda and Janek will attempt to repair a relationship in which not everything is lost yet.
“To nie mój film” represents Poland in the Smart 7 competition organized by seven European festivals. The world premiere of the film took place at the Kino Pavasaris festival in Vilnius, and the Polish premiere was at the Nowe Horyzonty festival. As part of Smart 7, the film is also being shown at festivals such as Indie Lisboa IFF (Portugal), Filmadrid (Spain), Transilvania IFF (Romania), Reykjavik IFF (Iceland), and Thessaloniki (Greece).
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Maria Zbąska, actors Marcin Sztabiński and Zosia Chabiera.
