Spring 1794, and Poland is in turmoil. General Tadeusz “Kos” Kościuszko returns to the country, planning to spark an uprising against the Russians by rallying both the Polish nobility and peasants. Accompanying him is his loyal friend and former slave, Domingo. In pursuit of Kościuszko is the ruthless Russian captain, Dunin, who is determined to capture the general at all costs before he can incite a national rebellion.

After the screening, there will be a Q&A with actor Bartosz Bielenia.

With finesse in handling genre conventions and a sense of humor that speaks for itself, it captures the paradoxical nature of the Kościuszko myth.

Fans of Quentin Tarantino may find themselves at home in it.

Adam Siennica, naEKRANIE

Maślona’s new film is a triumph of imagination and narrative freedom. It’s a middle finger raised at all the pompous, unbearable historical frescoes.
