The film’s protagonist—who also happens to be its director—sets out to make a film that would preserve an important period in his youth. At the same time, he doesn’t quite know how to go about it. He decides to shoot his everyday life, which he spends wandering around the city and hanging out with his girlfriend and his best friend. The three of them film each other, often snatching the camera from each other’s hands, as they are recording the most important moments of their lives. They try to remain as spontaneous in what they are doing as they possibly can. While trying to make a film about people who are similar to him, spending a lot of time with familiar rappers, the protagonist fails to notice that he strays away from the subject that is truly important to him—his friend and girlfriend. In a conversation with his father, to whom he confides his problems, he recalls his initial motivation for making the film. His friend eventually helps him reaffirm his beliefs and in a conversation with his mother, he admits to himself that he wants to become a filmmaker. However, having learned from his recent experiences, he returns to his roots—documenting his everyday life and focusing on his loved ones. The protagonist manages to get into his dream film school, but it turns out that his relationship with his girlfriend may not survive the resulting separation.
The screening in Świdnica will be followed by a Q&A with director Mieszko Chomka.
