Four siblings on the cusp of adulthood try to forge independent paths without losing the bond that holds them together. The youngest, Benek, struggles with being pushed away by his older brother Franek, who until recently was also his best friend. As if that were not enough, Benek is haunted by a mysterious, malicious apparition — Dusiołek — that keeps him from sleeping.

Franek, increasingly distant from the family, is dealing with problems in his relationship, drugs and himself. His condition worries his twin sister Nastka, who is searching for love of her own. The eldest, Jana, is working on an art project that she hopes will bring relief to her younger siblings — and to herself.
