The fates of people who have suffered from polio are surprisingly similar. They are united by their optimism for life, their desire to overcome obstacles, a passion for physical activity and their incurable physical disabilities. Polio is a viral infectious disease that can cause paralysis. The disease is almost eradicated today, but there are still people among us who suffer lifelong consequences after a polio epidemic. In this documentary, we follow the fate of a young girl who, although she has lost her good leg, makes friends for life at the treatment centre in Janské Lázně. The story is narrated by Mrs. aroslava, faithfully reflecting the memories of those who have lived their lives with this disability.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Klára Kubenková.
