In 1993, Steven Spielberg scored yet another massive commercial success with “Jurassic Park.” He also sparked a long-lasting trend for dinosaurs, which led to Tyrannosaurus Rex and Pterodactyls appearing in countless film productions, as well as being featured on pajamas, mugs, cereal boxes, and other merchandise. However, even Spielberg likely didn’t foresee that his work would inspire such a bizarre film as “Tammy and the T-Rex.” This odd and very ’90s comedy tells the story of a teenager named Michael who is murdered, and whose brain is transplanted by a mad scientist into an animatronic dinosaur. This new form doesn’t stop Michael from continuing his romance with his beloved Tammy, as they search for a more suitable body for his brain.
Initially, “Tammy and the T-Rex” was filled with gory scenes that were cut by the producers so the film could be marketed as a teenage romantic comedy. However, at the VHS HELL screening, you’ll get to see the original uncensored version of the film, untouched by the censor’s scissors. To top it off, the film will be presented with live commentary, with Mateusz Gołębiowski improvising the dialogue as a live voice-over.
