The first edition of the International Competition “1,2” for feature film debuts and second films. It is often through their first feature films that creators break down the doors to the existing reality. The competition includes rebellious titles that stand out with a fresh perspective on cinematic language. The winner will be chosen by the festival audience.

The film will be preceded by the opening gala of the 10th Spektrum Film Festival.

Presentation of the most interesting titles of the season, introducing the title Spectrum of what was most important in the last months in artistic cinema. The program will include films shown at this year’s Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, Berlinale and at the International Film Festival in Cannes.

In the Young Classics section, we will look at the filmmakers who delighted the audience of the most important film festivals in the world at the beginning of their careers.

The part dedicated to the youngest festival viewers.

The festival cooperation with the Detention Center in Świdnica dates back to 2010 and the first edition of the The Youth Perspective Festival. The activities carried out with inmates in the prison ward have gradually evolved from meeting once a year, through regular projections, to the presentation of prisoners’ own prize.

The film will be preceded by the Award Ceremony of the 9th Świdnica Film Festival Spektrum.

Screening with a live narrator

VHS Hell is a collective founded in the Tricity area in 2010 by Krystian Kujda. It focuses on organizing screenings of films distributed in Poland on video cassette in the second half of the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s, as well as collecting, archiving, and publishing materials related to the video era and conducting interviews with distributors, rental shop owners, and film narrators.

The goal of the screenings organized by VHS Hell is to remind audiences of the strangest, most unsuccessful, and curiously fascinating films that could be found in Polish rental shops. Over fourteen years of operation, VHS Hell has held more than 200 screenings and has collaborated with festivals such as New Horizons, the Cult Film Festival, the Film Criticism Festival Kamera Akcja, the Octopus Film Festival, the International Forum of Independent Feature Films Cinemaforum, the Mystic Festival, and Inside Seaside.
