Submissions closed

We invite you to submit films to the competition sections of the 12th edition of Spektrum.
You can send your submissions in the following categories:

Short film competitions (up to 30 minutes):
— The Youth Perspective – Short fiction (for filmmakers up to 35 years old)
— The Youth Perspective – Documentary (for filmmakers up to 35 years old)
— The Youth Perspective – Animation (for filmmakers up to 35 years old)
— The Youth Perspective – Amateurs (for directors up to 21 years old)

 

 

Additional short film sections:
— Polish Competition: selected Polish productions will compete in this section (excluding the amateur competition).
— Midnight Shorts: a new non-competitive section for films blending horror, black comedy, camp, and experimentation.

Feature film competition:
— “1,2” Competition: for emerging filmmakers from around the world. We welcome first and second feature-length fiction films (up to 120 minutes), completed after January 1, 2024.

Deadlines and submissions
Submissions in all categories are open until June 8, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
All films must be submitted via FilmFreeway: www.filmfreeway.com/spektrum

Organizers
The organizers of the 12th Spektrum Film Festival are the Świdnica Cultural Center and the Wrocław Film Foundation. This year’s edition will take place on October 20–25, 2026, in Świdnica.

The winner of the “1,2” Competition is selected by the festival audience.

In each category of The Youth Perspective competition, the favorite film is chosen by a three-member professional jury composed of representatives of the film and art worlds.

In addition to the main jury, the films are also evaluated by local juries:
— Short fiction competition: participants of occupational therapy workshops in Mokrzeszów.
— Documentary competition: inmates of the Detention Center in Świdnica.
— Animation competition: participants of the “Animations with Passion” project.
— Amateur competition: representatives of the Świdnica Youth City Council.

In the Polish Competition, the best film is selected by a jury of journalists.

Main Award – statuette, cash prize of PLN 2500 (~ 600 euro), and a living trophy – a dedicated tree in the Świdnica Tree Map

Award of the participants of the Occupational Therapy Workshops in Mokrzeszów – “Incomplete Frame”

The Youth Perspective — Documentary

Main Award – statuette, cash prize of PLN 2500 (~ 600 euro), and a living trophy – a dedicated tree in the Świdnica Tree Map

Award of the inmates of the Detention Center in Świdnica – “Cinematografek”
