Beata Walentowska

Beata Walentowska

She thought she would become a film director but became an editor. Her first steps in filmmaking were taken alongside the excellent editor Katarzyna Maciejko-Kowalczyk, working as her assistant on Paweł Łoziński’s “Chemia” and Beata Dzianowicz’s “Latawce” / “Kites”. Their collaboration was interrupted by the death of Katarzyna Maciejko-Kowalczyk. Beata completed the editing of “Las” / “The Forest” directed by Piotr Dumała. Beata worked with many independent filmmakers. She edited subsequent movies by Piotr Dumała, Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal, Adam Sikora, Agnieszka Polska or Tomasz Wasilewski. “Zjednoczone Stany Miłości” / “United States of Love” directed by Tomasz Wasilewski and edited by Beata Walentowska received awards at many festivals, including the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the Berlin International Film Festival, and was nominated for the European Film Awards in the screenplay category. She’s co-editor of Netflix productions “Brokat” / “Glitter” and “Infamia”, as well as the Viaplay series “Udar”/ “The Stroke”. If she hadn’t become an editor, she would be a caregiver for elephants, raise chickens, or live in the forest studying plants. Also she loves dogs.
